  Introduction

  Autumn Portrait
The Space Of Memory

The fading light, the country lying in the silent, a melancholy lost along the furthest line of the horizon make Autumn the most spiritual season in the area.
The Fire of The bride

St.Martin’s festival in Scanno keeps structure and symbolic expressions reminding us the archetype of the passage and refounding rytes.

I Called a Saint and Nine came with our lady and St. Nicolas

In autumn the pastoral melancholy rediscovers the cosiness of the family and of fondness in the prayers and rytes.

Flavours and scents of the countryside in autumn The autumnal typical products extra-virgin olive oil and wine can be tasted and bought in the following farms
  Winter Time
Family Time The traditional iconography of the calendars carved on the portals of the cathedrals represents Winter or January, the  central month, a man sitting by a large fireplace roasting meat with a spit
Winter Tale A banquet of story tellers in a garden in May is above all a literary topos narrated under the fascination of the courtly poetry. On the contrary, the time of the popular tale is winter and the privileged space is the red reflection of the fie.
Magic Time L’inverno è tempo di predizioni e di oroscopi
Carnival Time In the peasant culture, Carnival is one of the most complex, contradictor and astonishing moment in the year
Time of full barnes In winter, if the harvest of the whole has been generous the farmer thanks God for his daily bread and rejoices for his fortune
Time of huge "panarde" Winter banquets are always epic, starting with the Christmas Eve dinner, going on through the New Years’ Eve dinner,  the ritual Panarde of St Anthony  and finishing with the large banquets of Carnival.

Introductions

The region of Abruzzo has recently made a great progress towards the development of a new agriculture heading to the qualified production and remaining strongly linked to the appreciation of the territorial typical products.

The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, the extra-virgin olive oil and other products are more and more appreciated in Italy and abroad. In this process of modernization and renovation, Abruzzo has found in the productive tradition an incredible resource and in Agritourism a window not always visible.

Every year thousands of guests from other regions and from abroad have the pleasure to taste the so many eno-gastronomic deli of our region, widening more and more a part of the market particularly interested in the quality of the food,.

I have the pleasure to greet this issue aiming to stimulate the improvement of eno-gastronomic tourism straight in the farms, an intelligent tourism connecting the territory to the farm, and this to the olive groves and to the mountain pastures.

Abruzzo is the Green Region of Europe not only because of its four Parks, but also because of its still healthy countryside, still linked to the rhythm of the season and where for this reason it will be easier, tomorrow, to produce a reasonable and satisfying income

Aim of this issue, for the regional agritouristic associations, is to attract the attention of the inseparable connection between the country and the flowing of the seasons. In our modern society where the time rhythms are marked by our daily occupations and anxiety looking at the country as an ideal place to enjoy the emotions of the seasons acquires a particular meaning. The colours of the country are those of the seasons and each season has its own flavour made of particular atmosphere of welcoming and of so many good typical traditional products. The Abruzzese farms offer the opportunity to follow itineraries of tastes still to be discovered as Agritourism is not only eating but research of direct contact with the colours and the flavours of the country.

Visiting farms and discovering regional traditional products, doesn’t mean only to buy a product, but to taste the territory with all its inner emotions. This is very meaning of this issue aiming to the improvement of the eno-gastronomic tourism.
